We have won several awards for our work and environmental projects at Hunting Hall.
The Tye Award, Northumberland Area Winner 2023
Presented to Hunting Hall by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, this award highlights some of the best farms in the North of England and recognises the contribution of farmers to conservation and environmental improvement.
North Northumberland Voluntary Forum - The Local Business Support Award 2019
Hunting Hall received this award in July 2019. It is presented to a commercial business which has demonstrated outstanding support to the voluntary sector.
North East Rural Awards 2018
Hunting Hall Farm won the Farming and the Environment Award This award is presented to a rural business that goes beyond expectations to enhance the countryside.
VisitEngland ROSE Award 2016
Our holiday cottages received a ROSE Award 'in Recognition of Service Excellence'. This award is presented to 100 of the VisitEngland assessed properties that provide the 'warmest of welcome' and 'go the extra mile' to look after their visitors.

Hunting Hall Farm was awarded ‘Highly Commended’
North Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership Award for Excellence:
We are very proud to have won two categories:
Farming and Land Management 2011 & 2013 “Insects were buzzing, birds were singing and blooming flowers created colourful swaths across the rolling grassland during the site visit and all the while crops were growing. All these factors contributed to integrated farm management. The passion and commitment of Tom and Karen was plain to see by their positive impact on the land.”
Sustainable Tourism 2011 “A green ethos runs through the whole business, but for the visiting guest, it isn’t ‘in-your-face’, it’s more a way of life – truly inspirational!”
Northumbria in Bloom Durham Trophy 2011 for Best Sustainable Project
Gold —This was awarded to Lowick Community Orchard which was created at Hunting Hall by Tom and Karen.
North East Tourism Awards 2009
Hunting Hall was winner of the Sustainable Tourism category and runner up in the National Awards for Excellence
Volvo Young Environmentalists of the Year Award 2005
This title was awarded to the Northumberland Eco Wild Team, the teenage environmental group that created Newt Cottage at Hunting Hall
National Young Environment Champion of the Year 2001
Meg Burn gained this title for her project “Bats, Badgers and Otters on my Footpath”. In 2005 Meg was the UK representative at a UNEP Youth Conference in Bangalore. Here she gave a presentation including the work we have done at Newt Cottage.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust Individual Conservation Award 2003
Tom won this award for his farmland conservation work.
British Naturalists’ Association Blake Shield 2003
Belford Wildlife Watch Group's "Great House Sparrow Rescue Project" at Hunting Hall (led by Tom and Karen) was Highly Commended in the Blake Shield Award and won the Northumberland Wildlife Trust Conservation Awards 2003 1st Prize Community Category
British Naturalists’ Association Blake Shield Ward Cup 2000
Belford Wildlife Watch Group was awarded a Certificate of Merit for their Hunting Hall "Pond Quandary" Project led by Karen and Tom.
