Caring for our Environment

This beautiful area of North Northumberland is extremely special to us and we are determined to treasure and protect our wonderful natural heritage.

It was important that our renovation of Newt Cottage didn’t damage the earth’s valuable resources. In the cottage we don’t use products that harm the natural world, so that visitors may enjoy their holiday, confident in the knowledge that they won’t leave behind an environmental footprint. Looking after our traditional Northumbrian farmland and native wildlife has been one of our main concerns and we have introduced many conservation measures on the farm through the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

We believe we need to encourage the young people of today to discover their wonderful natural heritage and explore the ways they can make a positive impact on the environment. We want the next generation to responsibly manage our environment and lead towards a greener future. We’ve worked with many young people on wildlife projects at Hunting Hall.
